Note!! The first Sunday Children's Chess Tournament will be held on 31 January 2010 at the Central State School Hall, Woondooma Street, Bundaberg.

THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE CLUB WAS HELD AT THE U3A ROOMS 80 A WOONGARRA STREET BUNDABERG AT 7 PM ON WEDNESDAY 5 AUGUST 2009

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT CLUB MEETINGS WILL BE HELD AT THE U3A BUILDING, 80 A WOONGARRA STREET, BUNDABERG FROM 1st APRIL 09, UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. THIS IS DUE TO THE RENOVATION WORKS TO BE CARRIED OUT AT THE ATW. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION PLEASE CONTACT THE CLUB SECRETARY ON 0417073094

The Club held a Weekend Fun Chess Tournament in Bundaberg on 7/8 February 09.  It was designed for players in the Gladstone, Bundaberg, Maryborough and Hervey Bay areas, although players from outside these areas were also welcome. The Club then held a Fun Weekend Chess Tournament in Maryborough on 13 and 14 June 09. The event was held at the Maryborough State High School Building.

The Bundaberg Chess Club Inc had the 2009 Queensland Open Chess Championships and under 1200 Chess Championships in Bundaberg over the Easter Period in 2009. For further details go to the CAQ Website www.caq.org.au

On Tuesday 27 October 09, there was a weekday School Childrens Chess Tournament held in Bundaberg at the ATW Sportsgrounds. While it was designed for Bundaberg Schools, any school outside the Bundaberg area could enter a team. For further details contact the Club Secretary on 0417073094 or at  menhamat@hotmail.com

In 2008, 111 children competed. There were medallions for winners and also a lot of cash prizes. In 2009, 114 children attended.
