Bundaberg Chess Club Incorporated

The Bundaberg Chess Club Incorporated normally meets at the Across the Waves Sports Club in Miller Street Bundaberg on Wednesday nights from 6 pm on . However, owing to renovation works to be carried out, the Club will be meeting at the U3A rooms, 80 a Woongarra Street, Bundaberg, from 1st April 09, commencing at 6.30 pm.

The Club caters for both Senior and Junior players and Club Junior Players regularly perform exceptionally well in inter school tournaments in the Wide Bay area. Senior Club Members coach the Junior Players and any one who wants to learn how to play chess.

Adults play with the Juniors to improve the skills of the Junior Players

Yearly Membership fees are $12 for Adults and $6 for Juniors (under 18 years of age).  Memberships are due on 30 June each year. Playing fees for Members each night are $3 for adults and $1 for Juniors. Non member playing fees each night are $4 for adults and $3 for Juniors. Players pay no fees to play when attending the club for the first time.

The Club conducts tournaments for school children on a Sunday each month (normally the last Sunday of the month) between February to November. However, owing to school holidays and other tournaments, the Sunday tournament may occasionally be held on a Sunday which is not the last Sunday. (Allan was the Treasurer and Regional Liaison Officer on the Council of the Chess Association of Queensland Inc from Dec 07 to Dec 08, when he did not seek re-election at the CAQ AGM on 6 Dec 08.

The Annual General Meeting of the Club was held at the U3A rooms, 80 a Woongarra Street, Bundaberg at 7 pm on Wednesday 5 August 09. Eighteen members attended.
